My wife retired in July and in the quest for something to do and drive me crazy at the same time, she decided to become a furniture maker. (for Christmas, I bought her a “branding iron” to “sign” her pieces and multiple tools to help with accuracy in cuts and repetitive cuts, (highly accurate miter gauge for the table saw), She is doing a pretty good job and driving me crazy at the same time, I am a metal smith, I hate working with wood (other than a chainsaw, a tree and a way to split and burn it!

Every flat surface in our house has stuff on it.

So far, she has built a cabinet for my son and his girlfriend, 2 night stands for Dr. Jenny and her husband (very funny story, apparently the cheap ass “cardboard sh!t” had would not stand up to being used as a nd step stool by my 5 foot two, 100 pound daughter.

she is just finishing a table and chairs for our grand daughters second birthday

The wood for the nightstands and table and chairs is 100 year old elm from 2 OLD church pews we scored 25 years ago

I hate working with wood
